Case Information

This is an FLSA lawsuit filed against Specialty Rescue & Fire Service, LLC (“Specialty Fire”) on behalf of its current and former Certified Confined Space Technicians who were not compensated for time spent traveling to and from job sites across the United States. The lawsuit seeks recover of the unpaid wages and overtime that Specialty Fire failed to pay as a result of not compensating its employees for travel time.

Status Updates

April 22, 2019 – Notice Sent to Class Members

On April 22, 2019, we mailed and e-mailed notice to Specialty Rescue’s current and former hourly paid employees who worked as silo laborers or confined space service rail employees who were not paid travel time to and from customer work sites. March 28, 2019 – Court Certifies Class

On March 28, 2019, the Court conditionally certified a class of all of Specialty Rescue’s current and former hourly paid employees who worked as silo laborers or confined space service rail employees who were not paid travel time to and from customer work sites.

January 11, 2019 – Unopposed Motion for Conditional Class Certification Filed

On January 11, 2019, we filed an Unopposed Motion for Conditional Class Certification. In the motion, we asked the Court to certify a class of all of Specialty Rescue’s current and former hourly paid employees who worked as silo laborers or confined space service rail employees who were not paid travel time to and from customer work sites.

We also requested the Court to authorize us to notify all potential class members of this lawsuit and of their ability to join the lawsuit.
